Passage
Many learners think that studying for hours at the weekend is the best way to learn new words. Research on suggests otherwise. When people review words in short sessions over several days, they remember them for much longer. This is called spaced practice. Another useful is testing yourself: trying to a word before checking the answer makes the memory stronger. Simply re-reading a word list feels easy, but it is much less effective.
